TREATMENT OF WASTE LIQUID MATTERS FROM A PLANT INSTALLED NEAR BILBAO
IN SPAIN
( Frebuary 2008 ) .
We examined carefully a plant for waste liquid coming from a huge refuse dump
near Bilbao.
The waste liquid matters allow to separate water, which can be disposed/recovered
as usual, from the various acids and compounds that require a special disposal.
This treatment is carried out by a “vacuum evaporation system”.
The plant for the treatment of a solution up to 72 cubic metres per day (volume
of liquid wastes generated by a refuse damp) consists of an evaporator divided
into three different sections.
The “triple effect” technology was applied to the evaporator as the
energy source available was hot water at approximately 85-88°C.
In the event of energy sources at high temperature and suitable power, this solution
allows to fully exploit the energy available and, at the same time, to improve
high-energy saving. In practice, the distillate increases threefold with the same
quantity of energy at source. The waste liquid matters heated up in the boilers,
evaporate in the heat exchangers.
As a result of the vacuum inside the boilers, the evaporation is taking place
at lower temperature (far below 100°C.) than the required standard needed
to boil water at the normal atmospheric pressure. The condensed steam is created
by the boiler. The liquid circulates in the condensation coil at a lower temperature
than the one employed to reach the dew-point of steam, which condenses and reverses
to liquid state.
In short, these are the operating features of an evaporator installed near Bilbao.
Please take note this plant has been realized especially to this end.
